Jan and Kristina Magasanik will guide the tour that is organized in cooperation with the Municipal Museum and the architecture web portal Ústí///Aussig. They will show us the past and future of the city that is connected by the river. The sharp edges of the industry brought a modern spirit into the Romantic landscape. The river is the energy-bearing element of the city and that is why the stroll leads mostly along it (steel bridges, ferroconcrete lock chamber, mysterious castle, river baths, Schicht´s city, steel ropeway, the Ólimbos of the Third Reich government, first skyscraper in Bohemia, plans for the sheet metal hangars etc.). The tour should provide a platform for discussion of the origins, development, chances and opportunities of the steel town and its places.
