OLOMOUC – HOUSES FOR MACHINES

Art historian Lukáš Beran gives a lecture on the rise of modern industrial architecture in the 19th and the 20th centuries. He will talk about industry architects and their works and will present examples of industrial architecture home and abroad, including buildings in the Olomouc region. About English textile factories, American car factories and Czech breweries. About industrial chateaus, feronconcrete classicism and an aquarium full of girls. The lecturer works in the Research Centre for Industrial Heritage FA CTU Prague and his lecture will open the Architecture Day in Olomouc, which has industrial architecture as its theme this year.
