At this moment we are working on the new program for 13th years of the festival Day of Architecture.
This year, the 13th edition of the Architecture Day festival awaits us, which this time will be held from Friday, September 29 to Thursday, October 5. The festival will once again offer a rich program full of walks with architects and art historians, open objects and workshops.
Karel Prager is one of the personalities that the festival will pay special attention to. This year we will commemorate 100 years since the birth of this personality, who is often referred to as the most important architect of the second half of the 20th century.
For the first time in its history, Architecture Day will target the importance of places as distinctive locations in the sense of genius loci and, in general, their interrelations and interconnections. The program will take a deeper look at the routes and connections that criss-cross our cities and how transport has influenced and continues to influence the face of our cities. This year, the festival is themed around a greener form of transport, also in the context of the Year of European Railways.
A significant anniversary in 2021 will mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Jan Kotěra, the founder of modern architecture in this country, which Architecture Day will commemorate with a special program section. His personality and influence have affected many creators and set the character of Czech architecture itself across the Czech and Slovak Republics.
A unique opportunity to visit dozens of normally inaccessible buildings throughout the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
